King’s Cross Central and the Arts Council England (ACE) have developed an innovative artist in residence programme. This has evolved from ACE’s Interact project that placed artists in a business environment.
The role of King’s Cross Central in this project is to provide access to the site and development process as well as help artists to produce and exhibit work. In practice this has meant providing access to site, studio space for the length of residency, exhibition space, exhibition materials and additional financial support for the exhibition.
ACE has provided a stipend for the artist and curator as well as ongoing expertise in management of residencies. Both partners have been supported in development of the programme by CreateKX, Camden Arts Centre and London Borough of Camden.
